Closing Ceremony of UNSOC-29 on 21 May 2026

The United Nations Staff Officers’ Course is an essential course for Staff Officers, who are likely to work in UN Peace Operations in any Sector or Force HQs.
The UNSOC-29 started at BIPSOT on 03 May 2026 and terminated on 21 April 2026. The course had a blend of participants, where 11 from Bangladesh Army, 01 from Bangladesh Navy, 02 from Bangladesh Air Force and 02 overseas participants from Morocco and Pakistan have attended.
The objectives of the course are designed to enhance the participants' understanding and skills necessary for functioning in a multi-dimensional peace support operation (PSO) environment. The course is tailored to the dynamic roles of military, police, and civilian staff officers in mission settings.
The course had an intense and compact training program. All the lessons of Core Pre-deployment Training Materials and Staff Officers Specialized Training Materials were covered. Besides the instructors from BIPSOT, the lectures were reinforced by 13 subject matter experts. The course ended following 3 days Scenario Based Exercise where staff functions of various branches of FHQ/SHQ were tested.

Groundbreaking Ceremony of FEMALE PEACEKEEPRS’ COMPLEX on 28 Apr 2026

Groundbreaking Ceremony of FEMALE PEACEKEEPRS’ COMPLEX held on 18 April 2026 at Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT). The project is titled as “Enhancement of the Capacity of BIPSOT to Train Female Peacekeepers.” Commandant, BIPSOT glorified the event as chief guest. Other special guests were Mr A K M Sohel (Additional Secretary, UN Wing), Sudhir Muralidharan (Country Manager, UNOPS Bangladesh & Bhutan), Gitanjali Singh (Country Representative, UN Women in Bangladesh) and Mr Philippe Bernier Arcand (Second Secretary (Political Affairs) High Commission of Canada, Bangladesh). It is to be mentioned that, establishment of the Female Peacekeepers' Complex is being funded by "The Elsie Initiative Fund"

 

Closing Ceremony of UNMPKI T3-3 (NL) on 23 Apr 2026

23 Apr 2026 was the closing ceremony day of UNMPKI T3-3 (NL) where H.E. Mr Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh graced the occasion.
UNMPKI T3-3 (NL) course was started on 05 Apr and ended on 23 Apr. A total of 23 participants attended the course. Out of 23 participants, 11 offrs are from BD Army, 01 offrs from BD Navy, 01 offrs from BD Air Force and 10 offrs from allied countries. Out of the overseas participants, 01 offrs is from Cambodia, 01 offrs is from Malaysia, 02 offrs are from Mongolia, 03 offrs are from Nepal, 02 offrs are from Pakistan and 01 officer is from Vietnam.
Aim of this course was to equip participants with the relevant educational knowledge and expertise to work in intelligence appointments in UNPO ensuring a common approach to work at the Force, Sector & Battalion Levels. Besides, this course also aims to prepare participants to act as instructor of the same course in future. It is to mentioned that, this course was sponsored by Kingdom of the Netherlands and Hosted by Bangladesh in Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training.
Participants of the course could take home not only the knowledge and skills but also the spirit of cooperation, mutual respect and unity with a view that peacekeeping intelligence is not just about collecting information - it is about building trust, understanding the environment, and supporting the mission to achieve sustainable peace.

Visit of Ambassador and DA France on 21 Apr 2026

Bilateral relation between Bangladesh and France stands on mutual trust, respect and voice for global peace in harmony. France has been consistently supporting Bangladesh in developing her capacity. Both nations have consistently demonstrated their dedication to global stability. Bangladesh as one of the largest troop-contributing countries and France as a key strategic partner in peacekeeping operations. Over the years, our cooperation has evolved through mutual engagement in UN missions across different regions of the world. As a continuation of this, on 21 Apr 2026 His Excellency, the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh Mr. Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet visited Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training.

UN EP T3-1(1 Mar - 12 Mar 2026)

The Engagement Platoon Train-The-Trainer course started on 01 March 2026 with 19 participants for a duration of two weeks. Out of 19, 15 officers were from Bangladesh Army, 01 Officer from Bangladesh Navy, 02 officers from Bangladesh Air Force and 01 Officer from Bangladesh Police. To achieve the aim and objectives of this course, the course included lectures and interactive sessions. To make the training realistic and interesting, Situation Based Exercises in the name of ‘EX BLUE ENGAGER’, were conducted. There were also sharing of experiences by deployed EP Commander and experienced guest speakers. To apply the acquired knowledge, the course also conducted a one day Situational Training Exercise. Thereby the participants received a comprehensive understanding of all the lessons. Additionally, the course participants received practice on left hand driving vehicle. On 12th Mar 2026, all the participants were awarded with course qualification certificates and the course was officially terminated with the closing remarks by Commandant, BIPSOT.
