Major General Abu Saleh Mohammad Ridwanur Rahman, head of the AAPTC Secretariat, spoke highly of the host Vietnam’s organization of the event. He emphasized that it was an ideal event to open up new relationship and consolidate cooperation among member states. He recommended that the parties should continue to actively support each other for the greater goal of the mankind and world peace.

A delegation from BIPSOT had attended the event which was held in Seoul, South Korea from 20 until 25 May 2018. BIPSOT's delegation was headed by the The Honourable Commandant, Maj Gen Md Enayet Ullah, BSP, ndu, psc and accompanied by Col Mustafizur Rahman, psc.

This is an annual event involving peacekeeping centres around Asian Pasific countries which is dedicated to train and impart the peacekeeping modules towards military personnel, police and civillian who will be deployed to UN's peacekeeping mission areas around the world. This year summit theme was 'Embracing Challenges of Modern Peacekeeping Operations: Opportunities for Asia Pacific Nations'.

A number of 20 countries had participated in this meeting, which was also attended by special guest Lt Gen Carlos Alberto Dos Santos Cruz (Rtd) from Brazil (former MINUSTAH and MUNOSCO Force Commander).

Annual General Meeting and Commander's Workshop-2017

The Asia Pacific Peace Operations Training Centres conducted their workshop at Taj Samudra Hotel from August 1 to 3. The forum brought together military experts from 17 countries. This year’s event was hosted by the Sri Lanka Army.

The idea was initiated by the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training (BIPSOT) in 2008 with direct assistance from Global Peace Operations Initiatives (GPOI). The theme of this year’s AAPTC Workshop was “Challenges of Developing a Robust Peacekeeping Mindset’.

The three-day program provided a platform to identify and discuss the requirement of robust peacekeeping, its relevance and the challenges on implementation.
