UNITED NATIONS CIVIL MILITARY COORDINATION COURSE (UNCIMIC)-8 Duration: 30 July 2017 TO 10 August 2017

Bangladesh Army with the assistance of Office of Defence Cooperation (ODC), US Embassy in Dhaka is going to organize United Nations Civil-Military Coordination Course (UNCIMIC)-8 under Global Peace Operation Initiative (GPOI) program. The course will be conducted at BIPSOT by both GPOI and BIPSOT instructors from 30 July 2017 to 10 August 2017. Total 16 Bangladeshi officers’ (08 x Bangladesh Army, 03 x Bangladesh Navy, 03 x Bangladesh Air Force, and 02 x Bangladesh Police) along with overseas participants as per GPOI vacancies are likely to join the course.

Mine Action Course (MAC)-2 successfully conducted at BIPSOT from 28 June to 02 July 2015.

General. Mine Action Course (MAC)-2 conducted at BIPSOT from 28 June to 02 July 2015. The subject course was jointly organized by BIPSOT and Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).

Aim of the Course. To introduce Humanitarian Mine Action to trainers assigned to train for peacekeeping operations.

Protection of Civilian (POC) conducted by BIPSOT from 2 – 13 Nov 2014.

The Integrated Training Service (ITS), Division of Policy, Evaluation and Training (DPET) of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) and Department of Field Support (DFS) in collaboration with the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Government of Japan will be conducting a United Nations Training of Trainers Course (TOT) on Protection of Civilian (POC) at the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation and Training (BIPSOT) , Bangladesh from  2 –  13 Nov 2014.

Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Course (DDRC)-3 from 30 July 2017- 10 Aug 2017

Course Details

    Aim. To train the prospective DDR professionals on the principles, procedures and practices involved in planning, coordination and conduct of DDR programs with a view to enhance capacity and effectiveness to perform in UN peace keeping operation.

  Objectives.  After successful completion of the course the participants will be able to:

 a. Understand the concepts, policies and strategies related to DDR.

 b. Identify various DDR participants, beneficiaries, partners, their activities and issues.

 c. Understand DDR environments, contexts and challenges.

 d. Conceptualize as to how DDR programs are planned and implemented.

 e. Comprehend the vulnerability and sensibility of different groups in DDR.

 f. Understand the cross-cutting issues involved in DDR.

United Nations Staff Officers’ Course (UNSOC)-14 from 01 to 19 Nov 2015.

Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) regularly conducts the United Nations Staff Officers’ Course (UNSOC) for the potential Staff Officers from home and abroad in order to prepare efficient staff officers to discharge responsibilities effectually in a UN peacekeeping mission. The UNSOC-14 was scheduled from 01 November through 19 November 2015. A team of Subject Matter Expert Instructors with deliberate knowledge and experience in UN assignments are dedicated for conducting the course.
