Welcome to Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT)

BIPSOT is a prestigious institute of Bangladesh dedicated to training of peacekeepers for employment in all types of UNPO (UN Peace Operations). This institute fulfills the requirement of UNDPO as per General Assembly resolution which outlines 'the necessity and responsibility of every nation to train their armed forces before any deployment'.

At first, ‘Peace Keeping Operation Training Centre (PKOTC)’ was established in Bangladesh on 24th June 1999 at Rajendrapur Cantonment to train potential peacekeepers. It may be mentioned that this was one of the pioneer Peacekeeping Training Centers in the world.

In 2002, PKOTC was renamed as ‘Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training, in short BIPSOT’, which is now globally recognized as one of the premier peacekeepers' training icon in the Asia-Pacific region for its overall capacity and performance.
